No. This is the question we get most, and it comes from the word "locked" — so to be plain about it: the price is locked for 12 months. You are not.

Every monthly membership here is month to month with no contract. The 12 months is our commitment to you that your rate will not go up in that window. It is not your commitment to us.

If you decide RITUAL is not for you during your first month, tell us and we cancel it — no fee, no notice period, no questions. After that first month, leaving takes 30 days notice, any month, any reason.

The one exception is the annual packages, which are paid in full up front for 12 months of access and are not refundable or cancellable mid-term. Those are clearly labelled as annual.

The RITUAL founders guarantee: every monthly membership on this page is 30-day notice, no contract.

Your first month. That payment is not a deposit or a holding fee that disappears — it is one full month of unlimited sauna and cold plunge, banked for you until we open in November 2026. We reveal the exact date on November 1.

Your card is not charged again between now and one month after opening day. And it locks your founding rate for the 12 months that follow.

Inside APEX | yoga pod NW at 4136 NW 16th Blvd, Gainesville FL 32605, right next to Flying Biscuit and The Fresh Market. We built a new door in the hallway into the space next door. You check in at the same front desk as always, then walk through to the RITUAL sanctuary. Locker rooms and lobby are shared.

Through the RAD Collective App or on this website. Download it on the App Store or Google Play. Sessions are one hour with a maximum of 26 guests. We ask that you stay within your booked window and exit at the end so the next group can start on time.

You check in, get oriented, and then it is yours. Change in the locker room and store your things there. Grab your water bottle, sauna hat and towel or cover-up if you want one (we provide sauna towels) and enter through the hallway door.

Most guests do two to four rounds of sauna, cool down between each round with a cold plunge or a cool shower, and rest in between. The rest is the best part — take it. Think of it less like a workout and more like a ritual. Unhurried and intuitive.

A swimsuit is standard, and we recommend natural fabrics — organic cotton is ideal. We carry organic cotton swimwear and loungewear in the retail space if you need something.

Please do not wear undergarments or underwear, and no thongs or men's swim briefs. Be mindful in your selection to support a communal sanctuary. We reserve the right to request a change of attire.

Coming from an APEX or yoga pod class? A fresh change of clothes is required before entering. Plan accordingly.

Yes. We just require a change into clean clothes first — cleanliness is of the utmost importance in a shared space.

A typical sauna round is 10–20 minutes, followed by a cool-down of roughly equal length. For the cold plunge, even 30–60 seconds is enough to get the benefit. Your tolerance builds naturally over time and you will find your own rhythm.

Completely normal to feel that way before your first time. Most guests walk out after the first session wondering why they waited.

RITUAL is a sanctuary for healing, welcoming to all regardless of age, body type, gender identity, sexual orientation, or where you are from. There is zero tolerance for hostility, bullying, leering, or any form of uncomfortable attention. Perception matters more than intention here.

If anything ever makes you uneasy — another guest, a staff interaction, anything — tell us. We act without hesitation.

Löyly (pronounced low-loo) is the steam created when water is poured over hot sauna stones. To Finns it is far more than vapor — it is the spirit of the sauna. A soft, enveloping heat that wakes the senses and quiets the mind. A sauna without löyly is just a hot room.

We provide sauna towels as you enter the sanctuary, and sitting on one in the sauna is required — it protects the wood. Shower towels are available for rent at the front desk. Please do not use sauna towels for showering.

Please remove heavy deodorants, perfumes, scented lotions and skincare before entering. Heat amplifies scent dramatically — what feels subtle on you can be overwhelming to the person sitting inches away. Use the rinse shower before your session and save your routine for after.

Sauna hats, typically wool or felt, regulate head temperature and prevent overheating, dizziness and headaches. They protect hair and skin and make longer sessions more comfortable. We do not provide them but sell them in the lobby.

Booties and slips are allowed if they are clean and have never been used outdoors. We may ask to inspect them and staff may decline them — please be kind, it is for the shared space. Barefoot is normal throughout the facility.

Avoid heavy meals in the hour before. Come well hydrated and keep hydrating during and after. Filtered water stations are throughout the facility and inside the sanctuary. Electrolytes are available at the front desk.

Several reasons, all of them practical. Contrast therapy involves minimal clothing and a physically vulnerable state, and many guests feel significantly more at ease in a same-gender space. Many cultures and faiths have modesty practices that make co-ed bathing inaccessible. Same-gender sessions also tend to produce deeper relaxation and faster connection.

And men's wellness is genuinely underserved — dedicated men's sessions create a rare space for men to engage in wellness and community without social performance pressure.

Yes, there is no arrival requirement. We just ask that you stay within your booking window out of respect for the next guests. Booked 4pm and arriving at 4:20 is fine — please depart by 5.

Cancel at least 8 hours before your session start or a $10 late cancel fee applies. No-show for a booked session is $20. There is a one-time forgiveness on each.

If you need to move to another session on the same day inside the 8-hour window, call us and we will accommodate it without penalty.

Monthly memberships have no contract and no minimum term. All cancellations require 30 days notice. If you are billed on the 8th and cancel on the 15th, your final payment is the 8th of next month with nothing after. Annual contracts have no early cancellation or refund, including relocation. Freezes: up to 6 complimentary months per year. Dues continue during the freeze, and on reactivation your dues are $0 for the length of the freeze. Bill date to bill date only, no partial months. Submit at yogapodgainesville.com/freeze. Cancellations are not allowed immediately following a freeze.

Yes, with an exception. RITUAL is an 18+ environment for safety and the integrity of the experience. Guests 14 and over can go through an approval process with management, with additional liability waivers signed by a guardian.
